  • Lee P.’s MBX
    • 10″ barrel, 6″ comp
    • Hiperfire trigger
    • Holosun 510c
    • 124gr Berrys RN loads (4.0gr N320, 1.12OAL, Win SPP)
    • ETS 40rnd mag
    • Scheel Roller-Delayed Buffer System (Springs: S, S, W)

Right leg still acting up.

Stage 4

  • Originally brought the JP-Aero system but on Make Ready, found the dot wouldn’t turn on. Lee P to the rescue.
  • Didn’t adjust the stock so it was a bit long. Blaming that for hitting the no-shoot after getting into the last position.
  • 1NS; 23rd out of 57.

Stage 1

  • This time, adjusted the stock to my LOP.
  • Ran as planned.
  • Clean; 14th.

Stage 2

  • Changed the plan to what the fastest shooter in our squad did and ran it. Not as fast as he did, as I can’t fully run, but good enough.
  • Clean; 12th.

Stage 3

  • Tweaked my plan to our squad’s fastest, again. Change was in crossing the gap. I originally planned going across, but setting up on the other end meant a tight presentation of the 3. By going ‘normally’ in bounds, setup on the 3 was easier.
  • Walking in on the right-most target felt slow. Engage on the move, but as I’m finishing the approach – on ‘landing’, rather than from further out as I did.
  • Clean; 5th.

Stats: 77A, 23C, 2D, 1NS (Previous WAC PCC stats: 63A, 34C, 5D)

The Good

  • Great A-C ratio. Lee P’s Scheel setup (S, S, W) has better lockup it seems, leading to better accuracy.
  • Performance improved at every stage.
  • Gun ran.

Needs Improvement

  • Reconfigure Scheel to S, S, W to match Lee’s.
  • Change battery on Strikefire dot.
  • Watch diet for the right leg so I can run again.

Finished 12th out of 57 overall and 2nd out of 5 in PCC.

  • 18″ NFSC – 18″ New Frontier Side Charging upper on the M&P lower with JP trigger and SCSS. Strike Eagle 1-8 primary, offset Sightmark mini-dot, Rolling Thunder brake, using my 55gr and 69gr loads.
  • Ballistic Advantage (BA) lower – JP trigger, JP SCSS, Magpul ACS stock
  • 55gr loads:
    • Berrys 55gr, 24.1gr TAC, Topbrass re-spec’d brass, SRP
  • Magpul 30rnd dual mags and D60 drum

RIA VR80

  • Magpul K grip and Luth stock
  • Holosun 510c primary
  • 22 (Taccom extended) and 12 round mags
  • Winchester AA Target (1200fps)

PWS upper + SW MP15

  • 16″ PWS Upper
    • Meopta 1-4 primary
    • Venom offset
    • YHM Resonator-k 308 suppressor
    • My 55gr loads:
      • Berrys 55gr, 24.1gr TAC, bulk re-spec’d brass, SRP
  • MP15 lower – JP trigger, Armaspec SRS, Magpul MOE stock
  • Magpul 40rnd mags

I mistook the recoil system in the MP15 lower. What I thought was a JP SCS was actually an Armaspec SRS. Replaced the mangled o-ring on the SRS to fix battery issues with the PWS upper.

Right leg an issue again. Last month’s 3G at HSC and it was fine.

Stage 4

  • Pistol goes ok. Steel 1 for 1.
  • Rifle hiccups – so the SRS doesn’t look to be fixed. Probably needs new springs, but those aren’t currently available from Armaspec and may never be. Steel almost 1 for 1.
  • SG goes ok as well. Thanks to Lee P for a hot load for the spinner – first on the reload mag.
  • Clean, 14th out 35 shooters.

Stage 1

  • Sticking with the PWS as it only hiccupped once on 4. Should’ve changed over. SRS is a no go.
  • SG and pistol are uneventful.
  • Clean; 20th.

Stage 2

  • Switched out to the 18″ and no issues. 1 each on the rifle headshots. Kinda called the mike but didn’t make up.
  • Pistol and SG are good.
  • 1M; 8th.

Stage 3

  • Bipod and tripod FTW. Almost 1 for 1.
  • SG on the move and runs.
  • Clean, 6th.

The Good

  • S3 – everything ran. Plus the bipod and tripod.
  • SG almost runs.
  • Pistol work,

Needs Improvement

  • Replace Armaspec SRS. Parts coming in to convert a JP 9mm SCS to an H2 equivalent.
  • New yellow springs for M&P lower.
  • Though no slugs today – VR80 slug zero.
  • QD sling mount for PWS upper.
  • Bring a sling and practice with a sling.
    • Working around and with the sling.
    • Offhand shooting using the sling as support.
  • Watch diet and leg PT.

Finished 14th out of 35 overall and 9th out of 14 in Open.

USPSA, WAC, 2-6-24 (PCC)

PSA-Gibbz-Taccom 9mm PCC

  • Lower: PSA Glock lower, CMC 9mm trigger, Scheel Roller Delayed Blowback (RDB) system (hard, weak springs) and Magpul PRS Lite stock
  • Upper: Gibbz side charger with Taccom extreme feed barrel with muzzle break and JP 9mm SS bolt
  • Holosun 510c primary
  • 124gr Xtreme RN loads (4.1gr N320, 1.12 OAL)
  • 124gr PD RNHP loads (4.1gr N320, 1.12 OAL)
  • ETS 40 round mag

Right leg acting up again. Walking is ok with only a slight limp, but while walking the stages and trying to run in place, the right knee locked up. Ugh. No full running today. Stage plans will stress less travel.

Also, I originally signed up for LO but neglected to notify to change to PCC. No divisional results.

Stage 4

  • Shots felt shaky and hits showed it – a few C-Ds.
  • Extras on the first steel.
  • Clean; 15th out of 53.

Stage 1

  • Paper on the left at the start is uneventful.
  • Big popper/activator plan was 2 to the left to drive it down faster. But I miss the one next to it so have to re-engage it after the maxtrap.
  • Again with the shaky feeling but at least the hits are better.
  • Clean; 13th.

Stage 2

  • On the move. Walking with a slight limp means walking isn’t smooth, which means a jerky sight picture while shooting on the move.
  • Clean; 14th.

Stage 3

  • Planned with minimal movement.
  • Clean; 8th.

Stats: 63A, 34C, 5D (Previous WAC LO stats: 73A, 19C; Previous WAC PCC stats: 74A, 14C, 2D)

The Good

  • Clean match.
  • Ok A-C ratio.
  • Performance improved at every stage.
  • Gun ran.

Needs Improvement

  • Scheel lower is showing less accuracy than the Blitz lower. Will swap out guns for next match (or lowers) to see if accuracy improves. Another factor may be lockup isn’t long enough, may need harder springs for the rollers?
  • Watch diet for the right leg so I can run again.

Finished 10th out of 53 overall and 2nd out of 4 in PCC.

PCC HSC 3-17-24

March 20, 2024

PSA-Gibbz-Taccom 9mm PCC

  • Lower: PSA Glock lower, CMC 9mm trigger, Scheel Roller Delayed Blowback (RDB) system (hard, weak springs) and Magpul PRS Lite stock
  • Upper: Gibbz side charger with Taccom extreme feed barrel with muzzle break and JP 9mm SS bolt
  • Holosun 510c primary
  • 124gr Xtreme RN loads (4.1gr N320, 1.12 OAL)
  • 124gr PD RNHP loads (4.1gr N320, 1.12 OAL)
  • ETS 40 round mags, 57rnd MBX extended ETS mag, KCI 50rnd drum

Trying out the drum which used to work ok with the PSA-JP PCC. Right leg malfunctioning, so gimping around, can’t fully run.

Stage 2

  • On ‘Make Ready’, the drum wouldn’t seat. So I locked the bolt open, and good to go. Until the second shot and nothing. Bolt was locked to the back and wouldn’t budge. Had to take it to the safe table and a disassemble.
  • In the meantime, I borrowed Lee P’s PCC to run the stage.
  • 5th out of 18.

Stage 3

  • Long steel; bane of my existence. Maybe use PD loads for this stage next time?
  • 7th.

Stage 4

  • Shoot corresponding colored steel from each position.
  • Small steel on the far right corner is for a 10sec bonus.
  • Clean, 5th.

Stage 1

  • Zombie stage. Unmarked targets get 1 to the head. Marked targets get 3.
  • Ran as planned.
  • Clean; 1st. (!)

Stats: Clean match

The Good

  • Did relatively well without being able to fully run.

Needs Improvement

  • LR PCC work.
  • Practice on small targets at 35+ yards.
  • Practice off-hand rifle.
  • Keep PT and watching diet for the right knee/leg.

Finished 4th out of 18. Tested out the drum again after the match and still no-go. Rounds are nosing up above the chamber and getting stuck. Will test out on the JP upper where it used to work.

  • Holosun 510c primary
  • 24 and 11 round mags (Taccom and TF extended)
  • Win AA (1200fps) birdshot
  • Protective sleeve to shield from gases

After 2 weekends of a working right knee, it flares up again during the week and I’m hobbling for the weekend. Can’t run again.

Stage 2

  • Stage procedure was to start with SG, run to rifle, then run back to pistol. I took a procedural for going SG – pistol – rifle to save with the running.
  • 9 for the 6 on dueling rack.
  • 7 for 0 hits on the 100yd pistol steel. 2 LR pistol misses.
  • R1 – 5 for the 4 (100, 150, 200, 300)
  • R2 – really unstable; 1 for 1 for the 100 and 150, 3 for the 200, and after shooting 2 at the 300, took the miss.
  • R3 – 100: 1, 150: 3, 200: 2, 300: 2.
  • 25th out of 44.

Stage 3

  • All SG. Plain paper are slug targets, those with paper plates are buck and need x pellets on the plate to neutralize (I forget how many).
  • Planned for all bird with the big stick, then reload with a 10 rounder with the needed slugs and buck.
  • Malfunctions with the birdshot, but ran fine with the slugs and buck from the 10 round mag.
  • Ran as planned.
  • Clean; 9th.

Stage 4

  • Start seated in the car’s driver’s side back seat, gun unloaded.
  • Steel 1 for 1. Pistol run goes fine, then the long hobble over.
  • PCC runs fine. Used some leftover PD loads left in the mag from last match. Good to know it runs with the fresh recoil and roller springs.
  • Clean; 9th.

Stage 5

  • More issues with the SG.
  • Ran as planned – or actually, hobbled as planned.
  • Stage was thrown out as other squads ran the stage without using the hoops/positions.

Stage 1

  • SG runs this time, probably as I downloaded to about 12 for the needed 8.
  • Extras with the rifle on the unstable VTAC barricade, trouble getting up the ramp because of my knee and should’ve used the bipod on the van roof.
  • Clean, 24th.

The Good

  • In general, LR rifle work. 55 and 69gr ammo good.
  • Pistol ran.
  • PCC runs with PD RNHPs.
  • Slugs and buck ran in the Panzer 10rnd mag.

Needs Improvement

  • VR80 slug feeding.
  • Diet fix as gout is back.

Finished 13th out of 46 overall and 8th out of 24 in Open.

  • Gas pedal
  • MBX 140mm mags (24, 23rnd)
  • 124gr Berrys RN loads (4.1gr N320, CCI SPP primers, 1.12 OAL)

Forgot the hatcam, no videos today.

Stage 1

  • Long course, required a reload. Start with a SS mag and reloaded with a black mag. Every stage that requires a reload follows that protocol from now on.
  • Some steel, extras on 1.
  • Clean; 26th out of 75.

Stage 2

  • Classifier. Start in the middle but draw while moving a step or 2 to the right for the right-most.
  • On the move for the middle-left, then pausing for the middle no-shoots, and moving again for the middle-right, ending on the left.
  • Clean, 33rd.

Stage 3

  • Took the longer way at the start just so I could shoot 3 closer but on the move.
  • Middle a bit on the move.
  • Chose a later reload point but well within the roundcount.
  • Finished on steel, a bobber, and 2 tuxes.
  • Steel 1 for 1.
  • Clean; 34th.

Stage 4

  • Left and right targets to start.
  • Reload moving between the 2 shooting areas.
  • End on steel, swinger and paper.
  • Clean; 27th.

Stage 5

  • 2 up close at the start.
  • Move to stomp pad for 2 and a swinger.
  • End on the right for a close tux, a far tux and an open one next to the far tux.
  • Clean; 24th.

Stage 6

  • Clock-wise travel, mix of targets with a tux, no-shoots and halves.
  • Clean; 33rd.

Stats: 105A, 27C, 4D (Previous GC LO stats: 83A, 37C, 4D)

The Good

  • Clean match.
  • Awesome A-C ratio, only 4 Ds.
  • Berrys loads ran (new loads).
  • Gun ran.
  • I can run again.

Needs Improvement

  • Steel 1 for 1.
  • More trigger time with the DVC LO for quicker splits.
  • Keep up with diet and PT for the right leg.

Finished 28th out of 75 overall and 9th out of 25 in Limited Optics.
