  • ‘Captain America’ Colt Government Competition 9mm 1911 (minor pf) -on loan from Lee P.
    • 124gr Xtreme RN loads (3.9gr WST, 1.1OAL, CCI small rifle magnum primers)
    • Chip McCormick 10rnd mags

Stage 1

  • Steel 1 for 1, hit my reloads, and the swinger is good.
  • Started on the activator -second steel- to get the swinger going. Looking back, should’ve shot in ‘proper’ sequence instead of going back to the first popper.
  • Same with the back paper array – need to get confident taking a no-shoot on the move in, so I can shoot that array right to left.
  • Clean, 33rd out of 52.

Stage 2

  • Steel 1 for 1 to start, and hit my reloads.
  • Stovepipe is quickly remedied.
  • Clean, 36th.

Stage 3

  • Started on the right as the start position was touching either side wall. Starting on the left meant my right arm would be stretched across myself to touch the wall. Starting on the right, and my hand was right next to my holster.
  • Targets further out, splits slower.
  • Steel 1 for 1.
  • Had trouble on the last reload. This is after I said to myself how reloading while going right to left was going well.
  • 40th.

Stage 4

  • Good start, reloads are back on track.
  • Then the plate rack…
  • 42nd.

Stage 5

  • Decided to switch up the mag sequence and use the barney mag as the starter. :\ Not using the barney as a starter again.
  • Mike on the corner target across the stage; 45th.

Stage 6 (Classifier)

  • Back to my normal mag sequence and no issues.
  • Clean, 39th.

Stats: 83A, 38C, 712, 1M

The Good

  • Good Alpha-Charlie ratio.
  • Stage planning, reload points.
  • Stage 1, best stage.

Needs Improvement

  • Steel 1 for 1.
  • Verify zero.
  • More speed – Bill drills. (I keep on saying this but have yet to actually do it, ammo shortage notwithstanding.)

Finished 41st out of 52 overall and 1st out of 2 in Single Stack.

Withdrew from PCC Nationals, too much work obligations; continue to shoot single stack.

Stage 3

  • 3 per target, so reload between positions.
  • Stovepipes!
  • 36th out of 52.

Stage 4

  • Tight count for the first 2 positions, right at 10; mike on the middle.
  • 40th.
  • Oiled the gun before, in hopes it would fix the stovepipes; did the trick.

Stage 5

  • Unloaded start, gun holstered, mags on barrel.
  • Tagged a few no-shoots and a mike.
  • 43rd.

Stage 1

  • Too many extras on steel, at least the round count had enough cushion.
  • Mike on a tuxedo – even as I threw 3 at it.
  • 26th.

Stage 2

  • I ran this backwards specifically to address the steel last. It allowed for some of the steel to be engaged closer from the front.
  • Shooting on the move (retreat) for the middle paper.
  • After the 8 on retreat, reloaded too early as I planned to shoot the close target on the left, then perform the reload.
  • Too many on the last steel.
  • Clean, 35th.

Stats: 70A, 31C, 7D, 3M, 2NS

The Good

  • Good Alpha-Charlie ratio.
  • Stage planning, reload points.
  • Stage 1, best stage.

Needs Improvement

  • Oil.
  • Steel 1 for 1.
  • Verify zero.
  • More speed – Bill drills. (I keep on saying this but have yet to actually do it, ammo shortage notwithstanding.)

Finished 40th out of 52 overall and the only one in Single Stack.

  • ‘Captain America’ Colt Government Competition 9mm 1911 (minor pf) -on loan from Lee P.
    • 124gr Berry’s RN loads (3.9gr WST, 1.1OAL, CCI small rifle magnum primers)

PCC was good last Friday, and I felt it was because I’d been shooting Single Stack. So back to Single Stack.

Stage 3

  • Classifier. Start seated, hands on knees, toes on rear of the box. 2 on the middle, reload, finish on the flanks.
  • The reload felt like forever but wasn’t too bad on video.
  • 35th out of 54.

Stage 4

  • Unloaded start.
  • Steel 1 for 1, and shot the swinger on retreat.
  • Clean, 26th.

Stage 5

  • Good on the first 4 then on the move for the 5th. Should’ve shot the one on the left instead of the right.
  • Steel needs to be 1 for 1 and I lucked out not getting any of the no-shoots.
  • Clean, 39th.

Stage 1

  • Shot as planned, steel 1 for 1.
  • Didn’t see it but apparently there was a sweet spot to see both activators and maxtraps.
  • Clean, 41st.

Stage 2

  • 2 for the far steel; not bad. Better would be 1.
  • Reload, 5 through the port, reload again, drive by, then finish on the last port.
  • Clean, 40th.

Stats: 63A, 26C, 6D

The Good

  • Clean match!
  • Good Alpha-Charlie ratio.
  • Stage planning, reload points.
  • No malfunctions.
  • Stage 4, best stage.

Needs Improvement

  • Steel 1 for 1.
  • More speed – Bill drills. (I keep on saying this but have yet to actually do it, ammo shortage notwithstanding.)

Finished 38th out of 54 overall and the only one in Single Stack.

PCC Division

  • PSA-Gibbz-Taccom 9mm PCC
    • Lower: PSA Glock lower with magwell, CMC PCC trigger, JP 9mm (heavy) SCSS, Luth MBA-3 carbine stock
    • Upper: Gibbz side charger, Taccom extreme feed barrel with muzzle break and Taccom 9mm bolt
    • Holosun 510c primary
    • Green laser at 9 o’clock position
    • 124gr Xtreme RN loads (3.9gr WST, 1.1OAL, SRM primers)
    • ETS 40 round mag

Stage 1

  • Ran the plan.
  • Gun up and ready to go before getting into position.
  • Good splits. More speed on transitions.
  • Clean, 5th out of 46.

Stage 2

  • Great start on the 4, and gun up and ready after the run to the left.
  • Missed the steel and kept with the sequence so had to wait for the maxtraps.
  • Good splits on the no-shoots to end.
  • Clean, 8th.

Stage 3

  • 2 positions so I try to stretch the first with some movement. After failing to connect on the small popper while on the move, I leave it and make it up later.
  • Still clean, 8th.

Stage 4

  • Tight quarters getting in, then transitioning into and out of the shooting area.
  • Good up until I give the flat no-shoot a haircut.
  • Didn’t quite plan out the last 4 as I should’ve shot the left, inner target from the last position.
  • 20th.

Stats: 60A, 21C, 5D, 1NS

The Good

  • Great Alpha count
  • Good splits throughout, target-appropriate.
  • Keeping the gun up and getting it ready before coming into position
  • Gun ran, ammo worked

Needs Improvement

  • Clean match
  • Run faster – more speed, more speed!
  • Shooting small steel on the move.

Finished 6th out of 46 overall. I originally signed up for Single Stack but forgot to update, so no division results.

Shooting Single Stack these past few weeks forced me to work on fundamentals. Lifting heavy weights. Now back to PCC, it’s back to the easier platform – the lighter weight – and I can go as fast as my dot allows.
